I can like shopping, but it’s kind of dependent on a number of factors. Am I going shopping with my Mum? Am I shopping under harsh lighting? Am I shopping while sad? Am I shopping with my hot friend Tamsin who comes out with such gems as, “It’s weird how everything looks good on me today, and nothing ever suits you!” Am I shopping with a hangover? Am I shopping somewhere super busy where my fellow consumers are kind of aggressive? If the answer to one or more of these questions is yes then you are right, I dislike shopping.
But sometimes, you know, it’s okay. My sister and my best friend both have this fantastic sense of style and are just as prone to numerous coffee breaks as I am; they never make me feel kind of crappy about the way clothes look on me but they’re always honest. I like shopping in places that are kind of out of the way and different too, I like putting together an outfit that really feels like me, I like finding clothes and shoes and accessories on ebay and weird little websites like alicetakesatrip.com and even etsy sometimes, yeah I know it’s hokey, whatever, I have the cutest little fox ring.
Basically, even though the shopping experience can be a little depressing sometimes, I love clothes and I love finding clothes that suit me. Most of mine come from charity shops, ebay and River Island which is the best high street store I think, I mean, you have to sift but still. Also I know it’s kind of mumsy but the jeans and trousers from Next are ace, they fit so well.
