Anonymous asked: what is one famous author or book you don't understand what the fuss is about?

I made a post about this a really long time; it was a sort of list/explanation of the top five most overrated books, here it is!

I’d like to add David Nicholls to this list, because honest to god I can’t for the life of me figure why One Day should be even a fraction of as successful as it has been. It’s not a terrible book, it’s just so unremarkable and such a disappointment when it’s been hyped up beyond belief. Also the ending was poo. 

And, I mean I don’t think it has done incredibly well but I remember a friend of mine being utterly smitten with Love In The Present Tense by Catherine Ryan-Hyde, when I thought it was all a bit ridiculous. There was a lot of unecessary dying because integrity and I didn’t like that.

Mostly I don’t get Jane Austen, I really do not.
